The 2010 Sustainability Fair Day will be held at the Livingston Farmers Market on July 28th, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Sacajawea Park. Sustainability Fair Day is organized by WSE in partnership with Green Directory Montana as a special event at the Farmers Market.

It is designed to provide shoppers information and practical tools for implementing “green” practices at home and work, as well as increasing awareness about the economic and environmental benefits of sustainable living.
Sustainability Fair Returns to Livingston
LIVINGSTON – Even in a slow economy, sustainability matters to a large majority of Americans, according to a recent poll. That’s because living sustainably saves money, helps the environment, and makes communities stronger and healthier.
After a two-year absence, the Sustainability Fair is returning to Livingston, this time as Sustainability Fair Day at the Farmers Market. The Fair, which historically was held in Depot Park, moved to Billings last year to reach a new audience. But popular demand has brought it back to Livingston, and will take place in Sacajawea Park on Wednesday, July 28th, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Once again, Sustainability Fair Day will feature businesses and vendors who provide information and practical tools for implementing “green” practices at home and at the work place. Only this time the focus will be on businesses that provide goods and service in the area.
To add to the festivities, Little Jane and the Pistol Whips will serenade fairgoers.
Sustainability Fair Day is organized and operated by Western Sustainability Exchange (WSE) in partnership with Green Directory Montana as a Farmers Market special event. “The Sustainability Fair is designed to increase consumer awareness about the economic and environmental benefits of sustainable living,” says WSE Executive Director Lill Erickson. “It will provide people the tools and information they need to help them make sustainability a part of their daily lives.”
The Livingston Farmers Market has grown significantly over the past couple years, in terms of vendor and shopper attendance, and according to Erickson it has evolved to a natural venue for the Sustainability Fair. “The special event also gives us the opportunity to highlight the sustainable practices of many of our regular Farmers Market vendors.”
Western Sustainability Exchange operates the Livingston Farmers Market each week, and has planned several other special event days this year including Livingston Health Day (August 4th), and Plein Air Art and Culture Day (August 11th). WSE is a sustainable development nonprofit committed to preserving the integrity of the region’s environment, economy, and way of life. To learn more, visit www.westernsustainabilityexchange.org
Admission to Sustainability Fair Day is free for shoppers.
